There are lessons you are inadvertently taught when you are a 35-year-old being forced to sit in the same class with an 18-year-old. Imagine someone who is half your age, with less of life experiences sitting by your side, being taught the things you should have learned eighteen years ago. You feel a little jealous that you were not told these things early enough; that some people are just lucky. But you also feel hopeful that a young generation is being made to learn about better ideals of leadership, and what a good society should look like. KBC and the World Cup

That story has lots of issues which no one dares to touch. If I did, and I will do it later, it will be in a book. It makes for nice reading for any one who wants to understand what the media is all about. PS: Go to the www.eastafrican.co.ke and search 'KBC' then read. A nice, beautiful read. No? And these media wars, are they really healthy? I need to read some of the reports around here. PS2: The month is done and I have done only six blogs. Damn! That's too low. I haven't even checked myy alumni mails, but I have been writing many stories. Work-life balance is crying for a review. I am working on it.

PC Omollo, that big shot in Parliament, made us laugh. But, that’s beside the point. He passed his message: You have attended the workshop, you’ve been trained. It is now upon you to use the skills that you’ve gained. Back in the day in Kisumu, Omollo began, there was a white provincial administrator. He told all chiefs to tell the people to dig latrines in their homesteads. The chiefs, those days, were very powerful people. So the people obeyed. They dug pit latrines in their homesteads. But they kept on using the bush as the toilet. So when visitors asked what the latrine was for in the homestead, the answer came swiftly: “Hiyo ni ofisi ya chief, hapana enda huko.” (That’s the chief’s office, don’t use it.) Omollo then gave another example. There was this man who went to England (or was it America?) to study. When he came home (Kisumu) for Christmas, he decided to sleep at a hotel.
